1. What makes you happiest?
Hiking with my family and relaxing afterwards outdoors with good music and a delicious craft beer.
2. Do you love the Oceans or Mountains more?
Tough one…I love them both so much. That’s why I will always be a California girl at heart – it’s got the best of both worlds!
3. What has been a special moment in 2013?
Figuring out my voice and trying to make it on my own through blogging.
4. What is your favorite quote?
“It’s not being brave if it isn’t scary” Anonymous
“I was once like you, yesterday.” – Kenny Powers
5. Something you wish could be done ASAP?
Abolish world hunger.
6. What was your favorite class when still at school?
Photography and History
7. What musical instrument have you tried to play?
Piano, guitar, and drums/percussion
8. Anything you had wished to have learned earlier?
Spanish, graphic design, and that I WAS beautiful as a teenager.
9. What’s your favorite animal?
Probably Cats. I love all animals, but I’m a sucker for cats large and small.
10. Favorite song lyrics?
*Way too many to choose! I’m a serious music buff and I have many, many favorites. This list would go on for days! “Once in a while you get shown the light, In the strangest of places if you look at it right.”
11. What’s your favorite TV show?
I like a lot of different things and probably watch way too much TV. I love the HBO dramas (True Blood, Boardwalk Empire, Game of Thrones, etc), Downton Abbey, Top Chef, most Food Network stuff, House Hunters Int’l (and HGTV), Who Wants to Be a Millionaire (obviously), some competition reality shows (like Survivor, Amazing Race and Project Runway), various funny sitcoms (like the League and Happy Endings) and finally, I’ll admit it, the Real Housewives shows.
12. Favorite movie?
I love Joe Dirt, Spinal Tap, and Pooty Tang (real high brow stuff! haha) and also period pieces. We tend to watch epic TV shows over movies.
13. East coast or West coast?
Both. I love the seasons and landscape of the East. I also love the grittiness of the people and their straightforwardness. On the other hand I love the laid back vibe of the West and the more liberal communities. I also love the ability to see so many different environments and national parks in the vicinity.
14. What’s your favorite website?
hmmm…Yonder Wild! 🙂
15. Rainy Days: love them or hate them?
I LOVE rainy days!
16. Do you remember your dreams?
Yes and I tend to have pretty vivid ones. That used to be a bad thing, but now that I am settled more into my life they are usually good ones. (Hello Eric, the Viking Vampire! haha)
17. How do you like your eggs?
Scrambled with cheese and onions. Yum.
18. What are you scared of?
Wild Bears, wild snakes, and oh, did I mention Bears!
19. What is your favorite food?
Pesto pasta with lots of cheese and veggies served with a side of crusty bread to dip in herbed olive oil (damn, I miss carbs!) and also Tempeh/Avocado Hoagies. I live on spinach, broccoli and butternut squash; I splurge on french fries, cheese and chocolate. And I always prefer salty over sweet.
20. What is your favorite drink?
I like a couple different things: my favorite cocktail is a Bourbon and Ginger Ale (with lime); Rum and Ginger comes in a close second. I also like a really bold beer – IPA’s and hoppy American Pale Ale’s, also Oatmeal Porters. For wine I veer towards red Zinfandel and Shiraz. I like peppermint hot tea, and blueberry iced tea. And I shamefully still have a weakness for a daily Diet Coke. I drink ice water constantly though and almost always am found with a full Nalgene next to me!
